Mental Health

The CCG aims to move commissioning further towards mental health awareness and placing more emphasis on prevention and helping people maintain good mental health and wellbeing. Within primary care there will be a greater focus on pathways and partnership working with our Mental Health Providers as well as ensuring providers are able to respond to the long term care needs of service users.

NELCCG hope to achieve this through the development and implementation of Payment by Results, piloting Payment by Results for IAPT (Talking) therapies, implementation of Supported Living models, reshaping the market, and the introduction of Personal Budgets for people with long term Mental Health Conditions.

We are committed to the principles of Parity of Esteem, and look to develop Mental Health Services alongside Social and Health Care – for example in the new Single Point of Access.
