Children and Young People Friendly Local Transformation Plan

North East Lincolnshire’s Local Transformation Plan Refresh

Each year we write and update our Local Transformation Plan for Future in Mind to highlight all of the key actions undertaken in the financial year and the upcoming priorities. This plan is written for submission to NHS England to assure our plans locally and for professionals and the general public to be informed, however feedback from children and young people highlights that this information is inaccessible.

Creating a Children and Young People’s Friendly Version

Therefore we attended a meeting at the local Youth Action group to ask for children and young people’s feedback on how we could coproduce a ‘Children and Young People’s Local Transformation Plan Friendly Version’ and collated their ideas to begin creating a short leaflet.

Feedback from children and young people was collated and below are some of the themes:

  • “Need to include how young people have been involved”
  • “Want stand out facts”
  • “Simple explanations of what each service is”
  • “Want to see what the impact is”

We are now designing the leaflet in conjunction with a young person to ensure that the leaflet meets all of their requirements and informs them on the issues which they are interested in locally. This will be finalised shortly and shared widely with children, young people and families.

Youth ACTION is the local youth council/social action group for young people aged 13-21 and all members are voluntary.  The group are a part of the Young Advisors Charity nationally and work on a number of projects which includes the UK Youth Parliament campaigns and support ongoing actions on issues important for young people.
