Health and social care “according to” people in North East Lincolnshire

Here in North East Lincolnshire, our local community is involved in health and social care every step of the way, from working with us to plan and design services, helping people improve their own wellbeing and supporting their neighbours to access the care and advice they need.

Accord is North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) membership group that gives local people the chance to have an important say in how NHS and adult social care money is spent.

People can get involved in Accord as much or as little as they want, with some of our members actively working alongside clinicians and CCG managers in planning services.

You can find out exactly what our everyday health and social care heroes have been up to in the past 12 months by coming along to “According to You”, our Annual Members Meeting on Thursday 8 September 10am at the Humber Royal Hotel, which this year has been organised by Accord members.

This informal, enjoyable event is a great introduction to what membership can offer you and how you can help shape health and adult care services now and in the future.

“According to You” is an opportunity for local people to meet, listen to and discuss local health and social care plans with the local NHS.

“If you are keen to make improvements that make a difference to people’s lives then being an Accord member is the way in which to achieve this and the invitation is open to everyone in North East Lincolnshire who has an interest in local health and care services,” said Trevor Brooks, an Accord Ambassador.

Information will be available on the big challenges for the NHS, and there will be six discussion groups, covering a wide range of current topics. There will be a question time panel with local NHS leaders and the opportunity to meet representatives from Thames Ambulance services, the new Patient Transport Service providers.

The Accord AMM takes place at the Humber Royal Hotel with coffee at 9.30am and the meeting itself at 10am. The Accord meeting is followed by the CCG’s Annual General Meeting which starts at 1pm at the same venue.

If you are keen to be involved with Accord, but are unable to make this meeting, then a smaller session will be held on Thursday 15th September from 6pm to 8pm at Centre4, Wootton Road, Grimsby DN33 1HE.
