International Nurses Day 2017 - Open letter to Nurses in North East Lincolnshire

Dear Nursing Staff
As commissioners we wanted to send a simple thank you on International Nurses Day for the skills, compassion and dedication you bring, day in and day out.
Many people contribute to delivering health and social care in North East Lincolnshire in many different ways, but without our incredible nurses not a single one of them would be able to do what they do.
You are the face, the hands and the heart of the NHS. Your job probably seems incredibly thankless at times but it is your contribution that patients, their families and carers remember both in times of joy and recovery, or in times of desolation and loss.
The job of the nurse has changed dramatically as the NHS has matured. We know you are all working exceptionally hard at the moment as you strive to deliver the very best patient care in often testing environments and situations. While times are indeed extremely challenging in the NHS, there is a strong future for this multi-skilled, compassionate profession.
We value and appreciate our nurses.
