If you need to go to hospital to see a specialist, you have the right to choose which hospital you're referred to by your GP. This legal right lets you choose from any hospital offering a suitable treatment that meets NHS standards and costs.
North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group wants to hear patients’ views on whether or not they feel that they are given the opportunity by their GP to exercise their preferred choice of Hospital or clinic when requiring an outpatient appointment with a specialist.
To do this we are asking people with experience of being referred as an outpatient to take part in a short survey. Participating in the survey will enable us to understand more about how patients are being supported to exercise choice of providers within General Practice; and help us to work with our GPs to ensure patients are enabled to exercise choice of provider when requiring NHS funded elective care.
