Royal Appointment for vice chair of North East Lincolnshire CCG Community Forum


Immingham resident Terry Simco MBE and vice chair of North East Lincolnshire CCG Community Forum has received recognition for his service to the Queen Victoria Seaman’s Rest in the east end of London by having a recently refurbished suite named after him. The official opening was performed by HRH Princess Alexandra who is patron of the mission.

Terry, a former General Secretary and Chairman of the QVSR worked at the mission for over 50 years and on Tuesday 21 July HRH Princess Alexandra  officially opened a recently refurbished suite of rooms named in his honour as recognition for his years of service to the QVSR

Terry, vice chair of the North East Lincolnshire CCG Community Forum and holder of the Merchant Navy Medal has been involved in the 183 room seaman’s mission – the largest of its kind in Britain - for more than 50 years until his retirement in 2003 and was awarded an MBE for his work at the QVSR.

Terry said “I am thrilled and honoured to receive this recognition and through my work at the QVSR I have gained a good understanding of many of the communities needs both medically and socially which holds me in good stead for my involvement with the North East Lincolnshire CCG Community Forum”.
