What has happened to the Care Trust Plus?
The Care Trust Plus has been replaced by the North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group as part of the Government’s health reforms that were introduced in April 2013.
Our CCG is building on the success of the Care Trust Plus and is made up of many of the same staff from the previous organisation.
Will I still get to see my GP?
Yes, your GP will still be seeing patients regularly but will be more involved in decision making. The GPs are supported by experienced health and social care managers who allow the GPs to continue to do what they do best.
Will waiting times for GP/health and social care services increase?
Our GPs still see patients and are looking at ways to make services more accessible for local people. For example the NHS services in North East Lincolnshire are moving toward seven day services, which means that more services will be available on weekends.
Is this about saving money?
No, while there are savings to be made in the NHS we are committed to improving services for local people and we think our unique way of working highlights this.
If GPs are commissioning services, is there a conflict of interest?
GPs only commission hospital, community and social care services. The GP contracts are managed by NHS England to avoid any conflict of interest.
How can I get involved in the development of local services?
You can get involved as much or as little as you like from joining your local patient group at your GP surgery or joining the community membership group Accord. Find out more about the opportunities here
How can I change my GP practice?
Every patient has the right to change their GP practice if they wish. To find your nearest surgery taking on patients visit the NHS Choices website www.nhs.uk
