Research and Development
Research is vital in providing the evidence we need to transform services and improve outcomes for our patient population. By integrating research into our organisation we can improve quality of care and use of NHS resources.
Hosted by East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group we work on behalf of Hull CCG, North Lincolnshire CCG, North East Lincolnshire CCG and East Riding of Yorkshire CCG. In addition to the CCGs the R&D team work closely with partners from academic centres and other health and care organisations.
Our aim is to promote and facilitate the local provision of high quality research, making clinical research accessible to patients registered with a local GP. This is so we can improve care, provide better quality services and improve health outcomes for our local patient population.
To find out more about our service; the benefits of research; some of the work we have been involved in locally; or to access helpful links as a patient (including how to get involved in research), researcher or clinician please visit our web page at:

You can also find out more about local research by visiting the National Institute for Health Research’s (NIHR) Clinical Research Network website for Yorkshire and Humber. Examples of NIHR initiatives include:
Join Dementia Research: Join Dementia Research is a national database that exists to enable people to register their interest in participating in dementia research. People can then be matched to suitable studies that may be of interest to them. Anyone can register their interest to be involved.
Patient Research Ambassadors: a Patient Research Ambassador is someone who promotes health research from a patient point of view. They could be a patient, service user, carer or lay person who is enthusiastic about health research and is willing to communicate that to other patients, the public and healthcare professionals.
