Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care System our approach to public and patient engagement

Help us develop our approach to engagement and public involvement
Work has been taking place across Humber, North Yorkshire and York for a number of years to bring the NHS, health and care providers, local authorities, and communities closer together to plan and deliver joined-up services to improve the health and care of people who live and work across the region. This work has set a firm foundation for the integrating care transformation currently underway in the form of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs).
Under legislation expected to become law this summer (the Health and Care Bill 2021), our local ICS – Humber and North Yorkshire – will succeed the Humber Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership. This will provide new opportunities to work together more closely to identify, plan and deliver health and care services to help people across the region start well, live well, age well and end life well.
While ICSs will cover larger regions, there will be a strong focus on delivering at place for local people, and this will be reflected in the organisational arrangements of each ICS as they evolve. You can learn more about the development of ICSs here.
The areas that make up the Humber and North Yorkshire system are: East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire and York.
We are currently developing our approach to engagement and public involvement for Humber and North Yorkshire. This will build on good practice which already takes place across our region, while using this opportunity to introduce improvements and innovations into how we involve people in our activities and decision making.
We very much value your input into what our strategy should look like, by sharing what is important to you, good practice you have seen and what you think our priories should be. This survey will take about 15 minutes of your time and is broken into two sections: your views on what good engagement and involvement looks like and about you.
