Join us at our free virtual event to hear about your local NHS in 2021 and plans for the future- the event will take place on Wednesday 24th March, 5pm – 6.15pm

NHS North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) will be hosting Way Forward 2021, the latest virtual event in their series of online meetings where local people have the opportunity to get involved and hear about what is happening locally with health and care services. Way Forward 2021 will once again be hosted by Mark Webb, Chair of the CCG.

Since our last event in January, the Government has announced its roadmap for easing Coronavirus restrictions across the country. CCG Chief Executive, Rob Walsh, and Dr Peter Melton, CCG Clinical Chief Officer will discuss how the borough will recover from the pandemic, as well as looking at the CCGs’ commissioning priorities for the next 12 months, and what national reorganisation of the NHS means for us here in North East Lincolnshire.

Dr Peter Reading, Chief Executive of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust will update on how the Trust has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as other updates including the extensive building works taking place at Grimsby.

The virtual event will include several updates from local health and social care leaders. Dr Ekta Elston, local GP & Medical Director at the CCG will provide an update on the role out of the Covid Vaccine programme in our patch and will discuss the important role that volunteers are playing in ensuring that our vaccine clinics run efficiently. Sarah Dawson, CCG Service Lead for Primary Care will share the findings of last year’s survey into the experiences of patients accessing Primary Care during the pandemic, and what this means for services in the future.

Following on from our last event in January, Ivan McConnell, Humber Acute Services Director will provide an update on the review into hospital services in the Humber, and how the public can get involved in developing the decision-making criteria for the review.

“During the last 12 months, health and care services nationally have faced challenges they have never experienced before. We are now working to deliver the largest mass vaccination programme in the history of the NHS – with health, social care and local government organisations from across the Humber region working closer together than ever,” said Rob Walsh, Chief Executive of the CCG & Council. Recent Government announcements regarding the future of the health and care system will continue to build on the relationships that have developed during the pandemic. As a health system we are looking forward to holding our virtual event to update people living in our borough on our response to the pandemic, and what these changes will mean for us locally. This is your chance to hear from health and social care leaders and ask questions throughout our session. We hope you can join us.”
