Equality and Diversity in healthcare – the NHS belongs to all

Invitation for community members to attend a practical workshop

Do you have a keen interest in local health and care services?  Do you believe that fairness and inclusion are important factors in the delivery of health and care services?  The CCG and the Hospital Trust is looking for community members to help us ensure all people whatever their background have fair access to health services according to their needs.

During this workshop we will look at the legal and policy context the NHS operates in, and how Equality Impact Assessments help to ensure the NHS has  ‘due regard’ in our decision making about policies, procedures and service plans.  We will then put this into practice by considering the effects of current service plan/policy and explore together how we can ensure different groups protected from discrimination by the Equality Act 2010 are not disadvantaged.

This is a free workshop which will be facilitated by Karl Portz, Equalities Lead at Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust and takes place on

Tuesday 27th February from 1pm to 4pm at the Meeting Room, Freeman Street Market, Grimsby.

Places are limited – to register your interest please telephone 0300 3000 567 email nelccg.accord@nhs.net
