Put your health & care heroes in the spotlight!

Health and social care workers make a huge difference to the lives of countless people across North East Lincolnshire.

Whether it’s making people feel right at home in residential care, supporting them to remain in their own home or helping individuals through a period of ill health, these are often unsung heroes who can be employed health/social care workers from across statutory and third sector organisations or volunteers who will tell you they are “just doing their job”.

North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) wants to put the spotlight on the people who make a real difference in our area.

Last year the CCG held the successful Care Home Awards which gave recognition to staff who work in residential care. This year, we have expanded the awards to the whole of Health and Social Care. This includes a huge range of people from doctors and nurses, those who provide care in people’s homes, social workers, support workers and volunteers who give up their own time to provide health and social care services to people. We are inviting nominations for a total of 12 awards which pay tribute to innovation, professionalism, quality of care, compassion and encouraging people to keep their independence.

“There are some incredible people who work in health and social care,” explains Mark Webb, chairman of the CCG. “Whether it’s an individual staff member or team that always goes the extra mile or someone who has approached solving a problem in an original and effective way, we want to share their stories. There are 12 different categories and we really hope to be inspired by what we read.”

Anyone who is currently in either paid employment or volunteering in a health and social care capacity can be nominated for the awards. You can download the categories and simple nomination form or if you want them sending to you, please contact Sarah Gere on sarah.gere@nhs.net or by ringing 07702 975650.

Nominations should be made before Tuesday 1 March. Forms can be emailed to Sarah or posted to:
