We’re “Getting Better Together” but we can’t do it without you!

Health and social care really matter to everyone and local people are being invited to help the local NHS shape the future of these important services.
The organisation that plans and buys health and care services in North East Lincolnshire and the Trust that runs Grimsby hospital are holding an event on Thursday September 13 10am – 1pm at the Humber Royal Hotel, Grimsby, DN34 4LX.
‘Getting Better Together’ is open to all, so people can find out how the local NHS is tackling some of the challenges it faces and give their views on future plans using voting handsets.
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) has been working with colleagues at NHS North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the CCG’s public membership group Accord to develop an interactive and informative programme.
There will be a presentation from NLaG chief executive Dr Peter Reading who will focus on the Trust’s performance and progress. The CCG will also provide an update about commissioning for health and social care services, as well the latest news on GP recruitment and primary care developments. As part of the event there will also be a question and answer session.
Dr Reading said: “This is people’s opportunity to come and talk to us about our future plans for services, to hear how we are improving the quality of care for our local population and to raise any issues or concerns they may have about their local hospital or services.”
Liz Read, chair of Accord, said: “Local people are involved in health and social care every step of the way in North East Lincolnshire, from working with the CCG to plan and design services, helping people improve their own wellbeing to simply supporting their friends and neighbours to access the care and advice they need.
“If you want to be more involved, this event is a great opportunity to find out how you can play a part in our local services.”
The meeting will be followed by the CCG’s annual general meeting.
