New Sensory Impairment Portal

A new online resource has been developed for people with a sensory loss, their family, carers and friends. This portal offers a single place to access local and national information and advice to give as much support as possible.

You can visit the page by clicking the following link https://livewell.nelincs.gov.uk/sensory-impairment-portal/. The page has interactive sections for people with hearing loss and visual impairment, and features information about everything from diagnosis and specialist advice to equipment and money-related issues.

“Everyone with a sight or hearing impairment has a different experience and different support needs,” explained Cllr Margaret Cracknell, North East Lincolnshire Council Portfolio Holder for Adult Services.

“There is a lot of information out there, both locally and nationally, however it can sometimes be overwhelming knowing where to find resources you can trust online. As part of our health and wellbeing website Livewell, we have brought together a raft of important, trusted resources to help people with a sensory loss find what they need to help them live their best life.”

The portal is live. However, we want to make it as useful as we can so we would welcome any feedback or ideas to improve it from people with sensory loss and their carers, or professionals who work with people with sensory loss. Please send any comments to Nicola.Stark@Nelincs.gov.uk.
